FISH THE FLATS
Did you know that we are the Red Fish (also known as Red Drum) capital of the world?  These fish grow upwards of 35 pounds in the Lagoons and can be caught by site fishing in less than 2 feet of water.  Whether catching them on light tackle spinning rods OR fly fishing, our Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon are the areas best places to test your skills.  Also, trying your chances at an abundance of speckled sea trout, tarpon and snook can make for a memorable experience.  Contact me and I’ll “hook” you up with the best charter guides around!

CLIMB TO THE TOP OF THE LIGHTHOUSE!
Bring your camera and get ready to climb 203 steps to the main gallery for a spectacular view of Ponce Inlet, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach! The 2nd tallest lighthouse in the United States at 175 feet tall, the lighthouse recently was designated a National Historic Landmark. The first Mayor of Ponce Inlet, Ayres Davies fought hard for the town to take control of the Lighthouse and the grounds. Current plans had called for a destruction of the adjoining buildings and the Lighthouse would be closed to the public. Self-guided tours of the Lighthouse and its museum are available to the visiting public.

RIDE THE LOOP
If you haven’t taken The Loop yet, I recommend it highly. It’s like no other ride; whether by bicycle, car or motorcycle one can enjoy its freedom, sunshine, open road and graceful curves. This leisurely ride will give you a feel for Florida’s natural beauty. Check out Ormond Park and the Fairchild Oak Tree – one of Florida’s oldest living Oaks. Bring your camera, maybe a boxed lunch and enjoy. The Loop is approximately 22 miles long and a must for riders who enjoy an open road and Florida’s natural beauty. The Loop begins with a northerly trek at the foot of the Granada Bridge on John Anderson Drive in Ormond Beach.

CRUISE ABOARD AND ASHORE ON THE DAYTONA TROLLEYBOAT
What a fun way to learn about Daytona Beach! You will climb aboard this amphibious vehicle and cruise the Halifax River for 1/2 hour of spectacular sightseeing and then come ashore to tour the Riverfront Marketplace in Historical downtown Daytona Beach. Ticket prices range from $14 to $20 each so stop by the Ocean Walk Shoppes to book your Daytona Trolleyboat experience!

GRAB A PADDLE AND GO CANOEING
For canoeing enthusiast the New Smyrna, Port Orange and Ormond Beach areas offer an impressive choice of scenic waterways.  SPRUCE CREEK trail begins 10 miles west of New Smyrna Beach at the Moody Bridge , one mile south of the Port Orange interchange on Interstate 95. It then flows five miles upstream and nine miles downstream.  TOMOKA RIVER trail begins on State Road 40, one mile west of Interstate 95 and flows for 13 miles.  BULOW CREEK trail begins at the Bulow Plantation Ruins State Historic Site north of Ormond Beach and flows for 13 miles.

ENJOY A SPECTACULAR FLORIDA SUNSET

WOW!  I truly feel our area has some of the best sunsets.  With each day we experience a new sunset with vibrant colors that will simply take your breath away.  That happens to be my most favorite time of the day, watching the sunset.  I suggest finding a cozy spot along the Halifax River , whether in a boat or dining on the water you won’t want to miss one!  And don’t forget to bring your camera!

RELAX AT THE BEACH
If you want to relax, then head to the Beach! The beaches in our area are always open and free to pedestrians. Cars are allowed on the beach from sunrise to sunset if tidal conditions permit and in restricted areas. Beachgoers don’t forget about our beachfront parks! Some of the local parks provide picnic tables, restroom facilities, outdoor showers, volleyball courts and even playgrounds for the little ones.
